Welcome to the Triplets Plus Club

We encourage parents of triplets plus to join their local multiple birth club to make the most of the local coffee mornings and activities with fellow parents of multiples. Often the nearest triplets plus of a similar age can be geographically impossible to meet up with frequently, so the support of a local group of people can be important.

Having triplets plus can put a strain on your personal finances and relationships. We are able to help parents in the early stages of having triplets:

  • Access the free 1,560 hours available from WINZ to all parents of triplets plus
  • Share tips for saving money, organisation and retaining some adult time

The Purple Butterfly initiative

The Neonatal Trust and Multiples New Zealand have partnered up to bring the ‘Purple Butterfly’ initiative to New Zealand. Both organisations share a common objective of supporting families facing stress and anxiety due to the arrival of new babies.

The Purple Butterfly sticker initiative has been developed in the United Kingdom by Millie Smith after the passing of one of her newborn twin daughters. Her daughter Skye had been diagnosed at 12 weeks with anencephaly and only lived for three hours after birth.

Each year, around 1,000 Kiwi couples welcome twins, triplets or other multiples into the world.

The arrival of these babies brings excitement and joy, but also added challenges. Night feeds and day excursions take on a whole new dimension, and parenting multiples can be physically-demanding and emotionally exhausting – especially in the first years.

Multiples NZ is a nationwide parent-led support network supporting families in their journey from expecting to raising multiples.

Multiples NZ is a completely volunteer-run organisation that seeks to address the diverse needs of families with multiples through networking, education, support and advocacy. We work in partnership with local Multiples Clubs, community groups, health care providers and educators to support our members.
